Mercury Square Uranus (June 18, 2011)

Mercury rounds a corner and crashes into Uranus. Look out! Uranus will excite your mind, push you beyond the ordinary; you might just think, and then shout out…anything! Yes, it will be exceptional. Yes it will shock. But does it lead to growth and understanding?

Mercury is sailing through Cancer now; the mind is focused upon security and stability, of finding and staying within a “comfort zone”. But Uranus represents the “uncharted territory”, the undiscovered that beckons the pioneer within you. It calls to you and raises the banner of Freedom, Independence and Originality.

Mercury is calling you homeward; Uranus is urging you to break from “familiar”. Okay, so now what do you do? Well, you must see the way through of course. Both are speaking truth, of a “way to be”…But the “Way of Becoming”, the higher path, the Truth, requires that you not choose one or the other but find the Way of Integration, of honoring both of course.

You must come from somewhere; you must belong and be part of a greater whole. Family, tribe, neighborhood…your belonging provides context, binds you back to the roots of your existence. Mercury in Cancer now sings this song of your truth.

You are becoming something more, unfolding from within yourself your “selfness”, your special song within the great song of Spirit. To do this you must journey forth and become unique, special…find your own voice. You must become individuated, individualized…yet not “separated” from your roots. Uranus in Aries now sings this song of your truth.

The One Truth is that each truth here, Rootedness and Freedom, cannot be without the other. The Truth, your truth, must be the dance of life that celebrates balance in your conduct in this world.

If you cling to the familiar overmuch, you will not grow or be prepared for the challenges and changes which are part of your journey. If you too adamantly rebel against any limitation, your dissonance will bring only waywardness, alienation and loss of meaning.

The challenge for you here is to “not choose”, to neither cling or to break, but to take the higher path of understanding. The “middle path”, the “Noble Path” is the path of the spiritual warrior. The battle is always within oneself as you seek to overcome the illusion of “this or that” and so create your path to a higher, more illumined level of being.

Sing pilgrim, sing your special song, that is deeply rooted, yet beautifully (because individually) modulated, in the great chorus that is Spirit.

Sing your song!

Venus Trine Saturn (June 18, 2011)

Venus aligns with Saturn, and like the story of “Beauty and The Beast”, you have come to appreciate that true love is born in the depths of your soul. Saturn reminds you that what draws you to one another is that you have always been together; you are part of a great hierarchy of souls on a journey of becoming. The great illusion of life on this physical plane is your apparent separation from one another; the Great Truth of Creation is that all come from and abide in the One Spirit.

Through many ages and many forms you meet up with souls you have met before and you experience…recognition. You remember this energy, this feeling in your heart; an echo of recollection within you rises up and says “Yes, I have felt this way before”. You look in one another’s eyes and see past your present forms…you remember…and you smile. That sign, that smile, is your conscious, outward expression of this precious inner assurance…“I am not alone, I have found you, again…I remember”.

You are drawn together because you were never “apart”. You were only unaware, for a time, of who you were, of where you have come from, and whence you are going. But as you come together again you are reminded by your beloved that though this journey be long, and sometimes difficult beyond measure, you are Never Alone.

So look beyond appearances, beyond the shell that covers the glory within; look into the eyes of the one before you…and remember…and smile.

Mercury Trine Neptune & Mercury Sextile Jupiter (June 17, 2011)

Right on the heels of Mercury dancing into the sensitive depths of Cancer, this double alignment provides a wonderful opportunity to experience energies which support and sustain your sense of being centered, of being you.

Neptune graces Hermes with the subtilizing intimations of your imagination. Ideas, concepts and beliefs that have been hard to understand, let alone express, now find pathways inward and outward.

You understand your dream…and others can share in it too. Your mind is lifted up, beyond the bounds of appearances, as you sense the presence of a greater reality. It is time to believe, to have faith…and so you shall.

Jove, the Truth-Bearer brings gifts for Mercury too. Too often your mind moves restlessly from one thing to another, flitting about; your questions remain unanswered, problems only partially solved. But today, Jupiter anchors your fleet-footed friend. The bits and pieces come together in a grand design. You can envisage the “Big Picture”, yet appreciate all the mosaic pieces that make it up too.

Ideas, plans and projects that have been underway (or start now) will be more likely to prosper. If you have been waiting for the right time to make a decision.…well now you have it! Your mind is centered; your principles sound.

Today is a day for dreaming. Today is a day for doing.

Celebrate the gifts of Neptune and Jupiter as you become the becoming.…So Be It!

Mercury Enters Cancer (June 16, 2011)

Words may never express what you truly feel…but at the very least you should feel like trying now. Till July 2nd, Mercury’s dash through Cancer brings about a deeper alignment of your feelings and thoughts. It’s time to share with each other your experience of commitment, nurturing and love.

Your conversations and musings will center upon caring and security. Your mind must be tempered by intuitive sensibilities. It will not be enough that your thoughts are clear; your intention must feel right too. Nuance, sympathy and compassion will be given and received. When asking another about something, do not say “What do you think about this?” Instead, you should say “How do you feel about this?” You will get a much better response.

Yes, it is time to laugh, and cry, to sing, and shout…but do it all from your heart, from your soul…It is good to feel whole again!

Thought-Feelings turn to the root of things, to your origins. Family, home, tribe and nation…ultimately it all comes together in the center of your soul. You feel connected, you feel stable, you belong here…

You are home.

Gemini Full Moon-Part 2 (June 15, 2011)

A question was asked about my earlier posting: “What is the significance of the deepest totality of the eclipse and the exact moment of the Full Moon being the same?”

Because we are experiencing a process, not a moment in time, an eclipse event will last many hours. The moon begins to enter the Penumbra of the earth’s shadow at around 1:24 pm (all times Eastern Daylight), then into the real shadow of the Umbra at 2:22 pm with complete coverage being attained at 3:22 pm, that is when the Total Eclipse has begun. The eclipse is at it greatest at around 4:13 pm (yes same time as Full Moon), and totality “ends” as the Moon begins to move out of the Umbra at 5:02 pm. The Moon passes out of the Umbra completely by 6:02 leaving it within the Penumbra until it passes beyond any shadow at around 7 pm.

So the Total Eclipse times are: Penumbral: 5 hours 36 min, Umbral: 3 hours 39 min, and Total Eclipse 1 hour 40 min.

Your question, “Why does the exact Full Moon and Full Eclipse coincide?” (again, the exact moment is only a moment, though perceptually to us it lasts much longer. That is the Total Eclipse runs from 3:22 till 5:02, yet it is only “exact” at 4:13).

The reason the exact moment of the Full Moon and Eclipse being the same comes from the fact that this Eclipse is taking place almost exactly on the South Node of the Moon, (the point at which the Earth’s orbit of the Sun and the Moon’s orbit of the Earth meet). The node today is at 23 degrees, 26 minutes of Sagittarius and the Full Moon is at 24 degrees, 23 minutes. If the Moon was several degrees away from the node, there would still be an eclipse, but the Full Moon and Total Eclipse moments would be farther apart.

This is a long eclipse, but not the longest. The Moon is “moving faster” now which is a factor determined by where it is in its cycle from closest to farthest from the Earth. If it was at it apogee, farthest, then a slower Moon would create the longest eclipse. The Moon was at perigee on June 11, and will be at apogee on June 23. Still it is a longer eclipse than many.

Spiritually, I do not think these “exact” timings matter so much. I am much more process orientated than event driven…I have witnessed the rising of an eclipsed Moon with the setting of the full Sun…Now that is wondrous to behold. Or a Full Moon rising at the Winter Solstice. Significant ceremonies and Sacred Initiations are held at these very important alignments. This particular eclipse is just such a beautiful reminder of the larger forces at play around and through us that many in our modern world forget to acknowledge, or experience!

For me, I wanted to point out to my readers that this area of space is special; that is from here that Rays emanate from the Galactic Center, (wherein resides the Logos of our Universe). That is what we are looking at tonight, and should pay homage to, when we look upon (or beyond) the Moon tonight. We are looking to the Divinity which ensouls our entire galaxy, the watcher waiting; the head of the Hierarchical Host of “shining ones”.
