The Fields of the Lord
In this time of Libra, in this space that holds the realm or the fields of Rela­tion­ship, we are remind­ed that we, as I like to say, we are more like a “we than an I”. This is because of a foun­da­tion­al truth, that you and I are a host of ener­gy-forms; we are much more than a sin­gu­lar, sep­a­rate phys­i­cal organ­ism or any dis­crete kind of thing. Of course, this is true uni­ver­sal­ly, no mat­ter what form of man­i­fes­ta­tion or what kind of enti­ty or being we are con­sid­er­ing. Because this Truth con­cerns the Nature of Real­i­ty with regards to the entire­ty of Creation.

Whether you look at indi­vid­ual atoms or mol­e­cules, whether you con­sid­er the ranges of types of organ­isms, or com­mu­ni­ties of organ­isms or beings, the Truth is we and all of Cre­ation are tru­ly a field of ener­gy-forms that are immersed, sur­round­ed, inter­pen­e­trat­ed, and held by all the ener­gy fields and forms with which we jour­ney. The Uni­verse is in fact a Field of fields, a Holo­gram of holograms.

Cre­ation began with the One, who became the many, many ones that make up the Uni­verse. From the One, these many mon­ads or “sparks of the Divine”, the ini­tial “field of fields”, went forth to form all the var­i­ous orders, realms, and dimen­sions of man­i­fest­ed Spir­it. But we must remem­ber to see beyond the appear­ance of all these things, beyond the mate­ri­al­ized plane of spir­it, beyond our fix­a­tion on the par­ti­cles of mat­ter and to see what lies with­in and behind all these so-called sub­stan­tial forms.

We must start with the Truth, that all of Cre­ation is pure Spir­it; and pure Spir­it in its essence is just the most ethe­re­al­ized form Mat­ter, just as Mat­ter is the dens­est man­i­fes­ta­tion of Spirit…in effect, they are tru­ly one and the same, for all these ener­gies, fields, and beings are real­ly the Mind, Body and Spir­it that is the One.

The Zodi­ac
But just as all these Fields of Ener­gy-Forms unfold­ed from the One, so did what are known as the form­ing, shap­ing, hold­ing, and guid­ing prin­ci­ples which equal­ly came from and are of the One. These “for­m­ers of fields”, these hold­ers of form, are called the builders of Space-Time, and we know them as the Lords of Time and Space. Yes, these are the fun­da­men­tal Ener­gy-Forms that hold all the ener­gy-forms togeth­er, and you know them as the Signs of the Zodiac.

As I men­tioned in my show on June 13^th this year, the Zodi­ac is not some­thing “in itself”, or some­thing by itself. It is not sep­a­rate and apart from Cre­ation; in fact, we should under­stand that the Zodi­ac is the very Warp and Weft of Cre­ation. These Hold­ers of Form and Mean­ing are in every field and every par­ti­cle of Cre­ation, in all the numer­ous hier­ar­chies and orders of being from the most infin­i­tes­i­mal to the most immense beings that are the One made man­i­fest. These Elec­tro-Mag­net­ic or bet­ter Spir­i­tu­al-Mag­net­ic shapers of Space and Time came from the One. They are the Elec­tro-Mag­net­ic Heart and Mind of the One, and they are the Archi­tect-Builders of Reality.

The Pri­mal Ener­gy-Form of Cre­ation, Divine Love, is divid­ed into these Twelve Vibra­tions. That is to say the Zodi­ac, this Realm of the Liv­ing Ones, is divid­ed into twelve cos­mic elec­tro-mag­netisms. These Noble Twelve are known in the Ancient Wis­dom as the Builders of Cre­ation, so that these twelve are omnipresent, they are in every­thing and every­one, as the twelve-fold mod­u­la­tions of the Divine Love that forms the fab­ric of the Universe.

The Zodi­ac – Not Con­stel­la­tions but part of the Fab­ric of the Cosmos 
You need to free your­self from mis­con­cep­tions and under­stand that the Zodi­ac is not a band of space that is mere­ly around our Solar Sys­tem. The Zodi­ac is the Cir­cle of Spir­it-Life-Con­scious­ness, and it is all encom­pass­ing because it is the Pri­mal Ener­gy-Sub­stance of the Mind of the One that informs and forms all the Fields of the Lord that we know as Creation.

This Pri­mal Ener­gy Form is direct­ed and shaped through the Signs of the Zodi­ac by what is called Fohat, which can be under­stood as an instru­ment of the One. This instru­ment of Guid­ing Intel­li­gence and Love is quite sim­ply the prin­ci­ple of Cos­mic Life guid­ed by Cos­mic Intel­li­gence that informs and shapes all of Spirit-Life-Consciousness.

From the One came this Mas­ter tem­plate for the entire­ty of Cre­ation; and through­out all human his­to­ry, observers have not­ed how the whole cos­mos seems to be the result of some grand design, and that it is formed and held in intel­li­gence and by beau­ty. And we can under­stand and appre­ci­ate this Intel­li­gent Design and Beau­ty because it is formed and shaped by the Mind of the One, as our hearts and mind are too. Tru­ly it is said, “as above, so below”, and that is why we can per­ceive the Intel­li­gence and Beau­ty “out there” because it is our own true nature too.

The Zodi­ac – The Design Body of Creation
In effect, the Builders of Cre­ation are these Twelve, because this Cre­ation is sim­ply the Man­i­fes­ta­tion of the Love and the Mind of the One, guid­ed, shaped, and informed by these Twelve. That is why the Zodi­ac should be seen as an Elec­tro-Mag­net­ic Field of Ener­gy-Forms that pro­vide the “Design Body” or what is known as the Sub­tle Body for all aspects of Creation.

How does this work? These fields of Ener­gy-Forms, these Holo­grams of Spir­it-Mat­ter, inter­sect to form dis­tinct fields which by their inter­sec­tions cre­ate the par­ti­cles that we expe­ri­ence as “Real­i­ty”; that is, we expe­ri­ence our­selves in our mat­ter bod­ies, and our emo­tion­al, men­tal, and spir­i­tu­al bod­ies too. But real­ly, what we are made of is a mul­ti-lay­ered inter­sec­tion of fields of Ener­gy; and fun­da­men­tal­ly, these fields of Ener­gy are formed by the Twelve Signs, in var­ied and won­der­ous com­bi­na­tions with one anoth­er. Not only is this for­ma­tion with­in each mon­ad of Cre­ation, but it exists in ever larg­er and more inclu­sive com­bi­na­tions through­out Cre­ation too.

Just as you hold all the Signs with­in your being, like an Auric Enve­lope or Design Body, so does the Earth itself, and then the Solar Sys­tem and then out into our very galaxy and beyond to the entire cos­mos. And, since this mak­er and shaper of forms remains aligned to each suc­ceed­ing lev­el from above and from below, shap­ing each atom in you, every cell in you, to your organs, and up to the whole of you and me in our vehi­cles or bod­ies, this same align­ment of the Zodi­ac con­tin­ues up and out­ward to the plan­ets and stars too, as their shap­ing and form­ing illu­mi­nates your jour­ney here on Earth.

Yes, there is an order to Cre­ation where­in all are held togeth­er and guid­ed and formed by these Twelve. This true way of under­stand­ing the nature of the Zodi­ac helps us to appre­ci­ate how infi­nite­ly com­plex yet pro­found­ly con­nect­ed every­one and every­thing is with every­thing else. We are all our very own cos­mos of ener­gy-forms as a human being, but we are also held in a larg­er field of ener­gy-forms, and this pro­ceeds in ever more encom­pass­ing fields of holo­grams on up to the Solar Sys­tem and beyond.

We are all Relat­ed – We are all Holograms
This brings us back to the fun­da­men­tal truth held by Libra, “that we are all relat­ed”. We are all held togeth­er by these fields with­in fields of ener­gy-forms that form the web of Spir­it, the Zodi­ac of the One. In a man­ner of speak­ing, each of us indi­vid­u­al­ly is a Holo­gram, an inter­sec­tion of var­i­ous ener­gy-forms which form our unique self; yet we are equal­ly mov­ing through the fields or Holo­grams of a host of oth­er Life-Forms with which we share this plan­et, this Solar Sys­tem and indeed the Uni­verse too.

Those inter-weav­ings and inter­sec­tions, our giv­ing and shar­ing with our fel­low humans have made us what we are. We would be noth­ing, we could not be, with­out the many, many dear ones who are part of us as we are part of them. We have con­tributed to one another’s unfold­ment of poten­tial, and with­out our rela­tions with fam­i­ly, friends, col­leagues and loved ones, we sim­ply would not be human at all.

Yet we equal­ly are com­ing to under­stand that what we thought was spe­cial or dif­fer­ent about us, that we were social­ly shaped and formed as human by humans, (and yes, that is a spe­cial form of the inter­sec­tion of fields of ener­gy-forms or Holo­grams to be sure), we have come to see the intri­cate order­ings and inter-weav­ings with­in oth­er life-forms and species, as well as across and between species too. We humans hold only a slight dif­fer­ence of kind or degree from our fel­low crea­tures, for we can see now that all of life, and in fact all of Cre­ation is formed by fields of rela­tion­ships of beings and orders of life-forms with one another.

Human Sep­a­ra­tion from the King­doms of Life
We have shaped one anoth­er, but we have most cer­tain­ly shaped and inter­wo­ven our lives with many oth­er life-forms too. What we do to or for them, and what they do for or to us is deep and pro­found. But we have moved away from our ancestor’s rev­er­ence and more inti­mate rela­tion­ship with the life-forms who share this plan­et with us. We have drawn a line between us and them, so that we have cre­at­ed a space apart for us and the rest of life. And this con­struct or con­ceit, well this is quite impos­si­ble to jus­ti­fy or accom­plish, because every­thing and every­one is con­nect­ed, is inter­re­lat­ed, and is inter­wo­ven with all oth­ers. We should remem­ber what we have been told, that “what you do to the least of these, you do to me”.

Com­pe­ti­tion ver­sus Cooperation
We have come to under­stand of late, that some of the con­ceits of our human supe­ri­or­i­ty can be explained by our mis­con­cep­tion or mis­char­ac­ter­i­za­tion that the prin­ci­pal dri­ver of the devel­op­ment of the King­doms of Spir­it-Life-Con­scious­ness is cen­tered and steered by the so-called com­pe­ti­tion with­in and between species. But of late, we have come to under­stand (and remem­ber) that there is far more coop­er­a­tion at the root nature of the Cos­mos. The pro­found­ly inter­con­nect­ed and coop­er­a­tive real­i­ties in the so-called plant king­dom, or the insect or mam­malian king­doms is quite mov­ing and real. For exam­ple, the way trees help one anoth­er, com­mu­ni­cate with one anoth­er through what we now know as the Myceli­um net­work under­ground, is quite mov­ing and won­der­ous. I would rec­om­mend read­ing “The Over­sto­ry” by Richard Pow­ers for exam­ple, or his new book “Bewil­der­ment”.

It seems ear­li­er humans did per­ceive and under­stand this true nature of the coop­er­a­tive, inter­wo­ven, inter­de­pen­den­cy of life. But it seems many of us have lost it. Why? I would say it is because we are very much shaped as humans by our thought-forms, which is a very sig­nif­i­cant part of our Holo­gram of Ener­gy-Forms, and those Ideation-Holo­grams became dom­i­nat­ed by the fear-based con­ceits of pow­er and dom­i­na­tion as opposed to our love-based nature of shar­ing and equity.

Sep­a­ra­tion By Thought-Forms
To reach this degree of sep­a­ra­tion from the rest of life, we humans in our self-unfold­ment forged a new holo­gram, a new Par­a­digm of Per­cep­tion, a new Field of Con­scious­ness, and it did mark anoth­er step in our spir­i­tu­al devel­op­ment. We reached the stage of self-aware, self-devel­op­ment and this quick­ened the devel­op­ment of our intel­li­gence. By this we were enabled to stand apart from the world around us, to expe­ri­ence our­selves as some­thing apart, and this allowed us to change both our phys­i­cal world and us too in very dra­mat­ic ways.

But we seem to have cre­at­ed a field of per­cep­tion that con­tained a fatal flaw in that it was incom­plete, and by mak­ing this choice and form­ing an assump­tion of spe­cial­ness and sep­a­ra­tion, we divid­ed our­selves from oth­er life-forms, and more than this, we even divid­ed our­selves from one anoth­er too. Yes, we gained some spe­cial abil­i­ties by this divi­sion, but we forged a path that began to erode our humil­i­ty and com­pas­sion. We became God-like in our manip­u­la­tion of ener­gy and mat­ter, but we began to turn our hearts to stone towards the rest of life on this plan­et and even towards one anoth­er. And now, most cer­tain­ly, we are suf­fer­ing the trag­ic con­se­quences of our mis­un­der­stand­ing about the nature of Life and Spir­it and the fun­da­men­tal One­ness of Creation.

Giv­en our sta­tus of self-aware con­scious­ness, we have achieved the abil­i­ty to choose, well or poor­ly for our­selves and for one anoth­er, and equal­ly for the all the life-forms we share on this home we call Earth. By our intel­li­gence and rea­son, we have dis­cov­ered some of the con­di­tions and phys­i­cal laws gov­ern­ing the holo­grams or ener­gy-fields of the man­i­fest­ed or mate­r­i­al plane. But we failed to real­ize or under­stand the pro­found and man­i­fold ways in which all of Cre­ation, how all the ener­gy-fields and how all of life on this plan­et is inter­wo­ven and inter­de­pen­dent. Because of this sev­er­ance from the greater real­i­ty of Earth’s Holo­gram, we are respon­si­ble now for the break­down of the inte­gra­tion and integri­ty of life on this plan­et. We have tru­ly become the Creator/Destroyer gods here on Earth.

Our Spir­i­tu­al Crisis
But pre­cise­ly because of our sep­a­ra­tion from the Greater Real­i­ty, we humans are going through a Spir­i­tu­al Cri­sis, and the Holo­grams that are most con­se­quen­tial for us as Human, the Fields of our Thought-Forms, these are being bent and warped by fear, con­flict and grief. The per­ils we have cre­at­ed for our­selves, and for all the oth­er life-forms on this plan­et are very real, but the good news is this…we made these perils…and we can with our rein­te­gra­tion with the larg­er holo­grams of under­stand­ing on this Earth, and those above and beyond our Earth, by remem­ber­ing and recon­nect­ing to them we can find our way to right thoughts, so that we might be guid­ed by com­pas­sion­ate feel­ings, and forge a path of right action and heal our­selves and our world. What is need­ed, and what is indeed hap­pen­ing I would argue, is for humans to move through anoth­er shift of con­scious­ness, and by this we can choose to return to a bal­anced and inte­gral way of being and liv­ing once again.

We have turned against our own true nature; we have become in a way alien­at­ed from the entire­ty of Cre­ation. The Truth is that we are all relat­ed, but we have cre­at­ed a bub­ble of belief that fos­tered the illu­sion­ary con­ceits of “excep­tion­al­ism”. For­tu­nate­ly for us, though some may still believe that we humans are apart and alone, I believe most humans very much still embrace and are guid­ed by the encom­pass­ing holo­grams of Mind and Love that are ever-present in the oth­er King­doms of Life on this plan­et and most cer­tain­ly in the stars above.

The One is All, and the Lords of Time and Space are hold­ing us in their Wis­dom and Love, and we need only to open our minds and hearts to this Greater Real­i­ty and return to the path of beau­ty and love once more.

Let us remem­ber, and hold in our hearts and minds the Great Invocation:

From the point of light with­in the Mind of God

Let Light stream forth into our minds

Let LIGHT descend on Earth.

From the point of love with­in the Heart of God

Let Love stream forth into our hearts

May LOVE increase on Earth.

From the cen­ter where the Will of God is known

Let pur­pose guide our wills

The PURPOSE which the mas­ters know and serve.

From the cen­ter which we call Humanity

Let the Plan of Love and Light work out

And may it seal the door

where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Pow­er restore the Plan on Earth.

The Sacred Space of Relationship

There is only the One.

There is only the One Life, and One Mind, and the One Spir­it that is Creation.

There is only the One, who became the Uni­verse by form­ing the many, many ones that are the Body, Mind and Spir­it of the One.
And you, and all with whom you jour­ney, are a one of these many ones.

The Uni­verse is a Hier­ar­chy of Hosts, rang­ing from the most infin­i­tes­i­mal par­ti­cles of cre­ation on up through atoms, mol­e­cules, organ­isms, plan­ets, stars and galax­ies and beyond. And all these forms are in truth “Fields of Ener­gies” or “Rela­tion­ships of Ener­gy-Forms”, who are the embod­i­ments of Cre­ation known as Spirit-Matter.

Every unique Field of Spir­it is ensouled by its own Mon­ad or Cen­ter of Spir­it, what we call a Spark of the Divine. Because this is so, each and every par­ti­cle of Cre­ation is “Alive”, “Con­scious”, and shin­ing with the One True Light of Spir­it, which is the Ener­gy-Form that holds the entire Cre­ation as one.

And this Uni­ver­sal Root of All is quite sim­ply Divine Uncon­di­tion­al Love.

Each mon­ad of Spir­it is on a jour­ney; com­ing out of or from a Star, each par­ti­cle of spir­it moves through realms, bod­ies, and lives. And by these many forms and steps of light through the “Fields of the Lord”, this Spark of the Divine by these innu­mer­able expe­ri­ences, through cease­less unfold­ings and self-becom­ings, this spark lifts itself from unself-aware con­scious­ness to become a Divine­ly real­ized Con­scious­ness, an awak­ened being, a freed Mon­ad or Jivanmukta.

In this Jour­ney of Spir­it, every mon­ad is part of a host of sim­i­lar ones, who are in turn held in the fields of ener­gy-forms of more encom­pass­ing hosts. These fields of Spir­it inter­sect and hold one anoth­er so that in the entire­ty of Cre­ation all are relat­ed to all, all are part of and form the greater host that is the One. That is why we say, and we must learn to live by this Truth, that “We are all relat­ed, we are all ones of the One”.

In this Path­way of Awak­en­ing, we host of humans find our­selves at a most pre­cious stage. We are self-aware, and so we have reached the stage where we have the gift of choice. We can choose well or poor­ly, and by this great gift, we can learn to choose bet­ter and become bet­ter; we can more steadi­ly make progress and lift our­selves upon the Path­way of Per­fec­tion so that we can become con­scious co-cre­ators of Cre­ation. But as in the entire­ty of Cre­ation, we can­not do this on our own, because we are made by one another.

Today we reach that time of year where we cel­e­brate this fun­da­men­tal truth, “that we are all relat­ed”. Today we enter that Spir­i­tu­al Field of Life-Forms we call Libra. And at this time and wher­ev­er you have Libra in your chart, we are held and guid­ed in the truth that our one and true “Way of Being” is to love one anoth­er, as we are all relat­ed and formed into who and what we are by one another.

For this is the truth held in Libra, that we are made into what we are by all our “rela­tions”. The notion that you or I are sep­a­rate and apart from any­one (or any­thing) is one of the great illu­sions from which we must free ourselves.

We have been formed through­out our entire jour­ney that is Cre­ation, and most cer­tain­ly in this peri­od of being “human”, we are most def­i­nite­ly formed by all the oth­er “fields of ener­gy-forms” that shaped and guid­ed, formed and form us to the very end of days.

From the begin­ning, and in each and every life, you are formed and informed, shaped, sup­port­ed, guid­ed, and inspired; in one form or anoth­er you are loved, and you love, and you shared your love with your fam­i­ly, friends, com­pan­ions and strangers too. The feel­ings you feel, the thoughts you think, in fact all that you think you know of as “you” came from these oth­ers that you met with in this life and in all your oth­er lives too.

All these encoun­ters, from the most casu­al and tran­sient to the most endur­ing and deep, all of them must be guid­ed by the under­stand­ing of what you do here. You are in your space, and they are in their space; and now you must cre­ate what I call “Third Space”, which is the space we call Relationship.

In Libra, by rela­tion­ship, you cre­ate a new and “Sacred Space”, where your field of ener­gy-forms encoun­ters their field of ener­gy-forms and you togeth­er form this new space, the shared and sacred space of “Us”. In this “vir­gin ter­ri­to­ry”, you are to be guid­ed by the truth that we are all made of one anoth­er and relat­ed to one anoth­er. Tru­ly we are all part of one anoth­er, inter­wo­ven with one anoth­er, because we are tru­ly a field of ener­gy-forms that extend far beyond our mere phys­i­cal form.

What is held with­in this “Field of Dreams”, that is the real you, it is your true nature; you are a micro­cosm of the Cos­mos, and so is the one before you. And this is why you must know this truth, that who­ev­er is before me is anoth­er spark of the Divine too.

This means that the Sacred and Spir­i­tu­al guid­ing prin­ci­ple for you in this space that you cre­ate with one anoth­er must fol­low the path of True Free­dom. You must do every­thing that you can, and they must do like­wise, to make this new and sacred space, this new Field of Ener­gies, you must make it the very means by which you and they can be even more what you are meant to be than you ever could be with­out one another.

To do this you must be guid­ed by Love, and by For­give­ness too. You cre­ate this Space by Love, by extend­ing your love to them you are wel­comed by the Divine with­in them that is equal­ly with­in you too. But because you are not per­fect, and nei­ther are they, you must also take care of this sacred space by car­ing for it and your­selves through humil­i­ty, grace and for­give­ness. You must give one anoth­er this grace of spir­it, which will cre­ate a space where you will try but some­times fail, and then you must try again. And the way that you can do this is by humil­i­ty and grace, so that you for­give one anoth­er as you equal­ly for­give yourself.

You are on the Path­way of Per­fec­tion; and you cre­ate like the Cre­ator when you give one anoth­er the space to grow by for­give­ness, and this is the path of true love that is there with­in one anoth­er. It is the Love of the One that is in your heart and in theirs too.

You are the way to one another’s self-fulfillment.

You are here to love and to be loved; to shine with the light of the One.

Now enter the Sacred Space of Relationship.

As you bow to the divine before you, as you see the light shin­ing in their eyes, you say

The Great­est Gift            

One of the most pro­found chal­lenges you will face in your jour­ney of awak­en­ing is this: how can you find a place of hap­pi­ness and peace in a world that is torn and bro­ken by human con­flict, and by nat­ur­al and human-made dis­as­ters? How can you be hap­py when so many are suf­fer­ing; how can you be at peace when so many in your world are trou­bled with strife and con­flict? How is this possible?

The answer to the ques­tion of where you will find hap­pi­ness and peace has always been the same. Hap­pi­ness and Peace can­not be found in some spe­cial cor­ner of the world, nor in any cor­ner of the cos­mos. The place that you must start is with­in your­self; hap­pi­ness and peace are root­ed with­in your true heart and held for­ev­er with­in your lumi­nous soul.

We have come to that time of year, yet ever-present some­where in your very own chart, we have come to that sacred time where we give thanks to and hon­or the gifts that Vir­go brings to our lives. After the stretch­ing and striv­ing for greater self-expres­sion and authen­tic­i­ty in Leo, we all have need for a time to reflect, recon­sid­er, and improve our­selves; we all need to know and feel that there is good and beau­ty in our­selves and in the world.

After every Fixed Sign, (Tau­rus, Leo, Scor­pio, and Aquar­ius), the Cir­cle of Life moves us into what we need, the adapt­abil­i­ty and inte­gra­tion that fol­low in the Muta­ble Signs (Gem­i­ni, Vir­go, Sagit­tar­ius, and Pisces). These are the “Tran­si­tion­al Signs”, the Ener­gy-Forms whose pur­pose is help us move from one state of Con­scious­ness and Being into anoth­er. Tru­ly, it is in the Muta­ble Signs that we take what we start­ed with in the Car­di­nal Signs, and then moved towards ful­fill­ment in the Fixed Signs; and now we need to under­stand, so that by our Expe­ri­ence, Wis­dom and Love we may move into a greater state of aware­ness, accep­tance and understanding.

Much like its “cousin” Gem­i­ni, who is also ruled by Mer­cury (or Her­mes the Mes­sen­ger), Vir­go is equal­ly a sign of “The Mind”. Gem­i­ni is about the won­der­ful fac­ul­ty of posit­ing mul­ti­ple points of view, of being thrilled and delight­ed by our won­der­ous tal­ent for ques­tion­ing and re-ques­tion­ing, of fram­ing and refram­ing our points of view; with Gem­i­ni you look at your world with “the eyes of a child”, won­der­ing and watch­ing with a mul­ti­tude of approach­es and angles as you mar­vel at the mir­a­cle that is Creation.

Where­as in Vir­go, we use our mind to find the most ele­gant, ver­sa­tile, and mean­ing­ful way in which to under­stand our­selves and our world. We use our fac­ul­ty of “Dis­cern­ment” or “Dis­crim­i­na­tion”, and with atten­tion to the details, to the intri­ca­cies, inter­con­nec­tions, and lay­ers of the count­less forms of the many instances of spir­it, by see­ing the many in their mul­ti­ple con­nec­tions, we weave our under­stand­ing of the greater whole into the One. Where­as Gem­i­ni is all about fol­low­ing our insa­tiable curios­i­ty, Vir­go is about our mind’s gift for exact­ing analy­sis and refinement.

In this time of Vir­go espe­cial­ly, and as an inte­gral pres­ence in your body, mind, and spir­it, you will become bet­ter by mak­ing use of this gift of clar­i­ty and grace every day. Take some time to pause and con­sid­er, to clear­ly dis­cern what was and what may be, so that you may learn how to “do bet­ter and be bet­ter” every day. It is a time-hon­ored prac­tice among many who are on the path of spir­i­tu­al self-improve­ment to pre­pare for each day ahead by care­ful­ly con­sid­er­ing what lies before you; and then equal­ly close each day by exam­in­ing how you fared and how you might do bet­ter next time.

What­ev­er prac­tice works best for you, by what­ev­er means and meth­ods that help you to main­tain atten­tive­ness and mind­ful­ness, you will see that there is only one way to find the peace that you seek. It starts with the under­stand­ing and accep­tance that the only con­trol you will ever tru­ly have, and the only mas­tery you tru­ly need to acquire, is for you to lift your­self up by your self-aware­ness. It is by this that you stay on the roy­al or mid­dle path of self-con­trol, and this will lead to your self-mastery.

Vir­go is one of the prin­ci­pal por­tals to the expe­ri­ence of Ini­ti­a­tions. As in ancient cul­tures, like in the Less­er and Greater Mys­ter­ies of Greece and Roman cul­ture, and in var­i­ous ways on up to our present age, we have always under­stood that we must pre­pare our­selves for entrance into a fuller par­tic­i­pa­tion in our soci­ety and cul­ture. I thought that we would con­tin­ue our look at the his­to­ry of the USA, by exam­in­ing how the series of Pro­gressed New Moons in the USA chart pro­vides a frame­work for under­stand­ing its his­tor­i­cal unfold­ment. I, and many Astrologers, have found that the series of Pro­gressed New Moons in an individual’s chart is quite illus­tra­tive of the struc­ture for that person’s life, and we will find the same is true with regards to a nation’s chart as well.

Our show last time focused upon the crit­i­cal role of Neptune’s posi­tion in the USA Chart (along with Plu­to and Uranus), and its cyclic move­ment through the heav­ens in its 170-year jour­ney around the sun (and through the USA’s chart), illu­mi­nates some of the crit­i­cal moments in our his­to­ry. More espe­cial­ly, Nep­tune high­lights the crit­i­cal junc­ture we find our­selves in today (which resem­bles or car­ries res­o­nances with the 1850’s and 1860’s). What we will see is that the pro­gressed Sun/Moon cycle also shows how impor­tant our moment today is as well.

A New Moon in a chart is like the plant­i­ng of a seed that unfolds over the next 29 years. It is one of the ele­ments that can help us under­stand what is pro­pelling the Spir­i­tu­al devel­op­ment of that enti­ty, in this case a Nation. The sign of the New Moon will be one key to its inter­pre­ta­tion, along with the House in which it occurs. We will also find illu­mi­nat­ing the halfway point of any Lunar cycle when the Moon and the Sun are oppo­site to one anoth­er, which is the Full Moon, and should be seen as a moment of Rev­e­la­tion or cli­max of that Sun/Moon cycle.

Though many his­tor­i­cal events occur in each peri­od, my inten­tion here is to observe the devel­op­ment of the USA with regards to its foun­da­tion­al pur­pose, that we were to be a nation based upon the prin­ci­ple of equal­i­ty and jus­tice for all, as we stat­ed to the world in our Dec­la­ra­tion of Independence,

“We hold these truths to be self-evi­dent, that all men are cre­at­ed equal, that they are endowed by their Cre­ator with cer­tain unalien­able Rights, that among these are Life, Lib­er­ty and the pur­suit of Hap­pi­ness. That to secure these rights, Gov­ern­ments are insti­tut­ed among Men, deriv­ing their just pow­ers from the con­sent of the gov­erned”.

That promise of equal­i­ty, of found­ing a covenant com­mu­ni­ty based upon the spir­i­tu­al truth that we sup­port each person’s right to free self-deter­mi­na­tion, was bro­ken at our birth, and it is still to be real­ized ful­ly to this very day. This is the sto­ry of Amer­i­ca, as it is for all human and spir­i­tu­al progress; we are imper­fect, and we must strive every day to become what we are meant to be, lov­ing one anoth­er as we love our­selves and all this Cre­ation too.

1787
The first New Moon for the USA was in 1787 at 24 degrees of Can­cer in the 8^th house. Can­cer is the sign of the Dec­la­ra­tion of Inde­pen­dence and is astro­log­i­cal­ly the sign of our Roots and Foun­da­tions, of where we come from. 1787 was the year when the Con­sti­tu­tion­al Con­ven­tion began, com­ing to an agree­ment to form the coun­try into a con­sti­tu­tion­al-rep­re­sen­ta­tive repub­lic. But more than half of the del­e­gates to the con­ven­tion were slave own­ers, and our con­sti­tu­tion specif­i­cal­ly enshrined the right to own black peo­ple. In 1789, George Wash­ing­ton, also a slave own­er, became the first Pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States. (And we can­not for­get, that out of the first 12 Pres­i­dents, only 2 did not own slaves).

The Full Moon in 1802 was in Aquar­ius, which is where the Moon is in the USA natal chart. In 1804 New Jer­sey becomes the last north­ern state to abol­ish slav­ery. And, in 1808, the impor­ta­tion of slaves into the Unit­ed States is made ille­gal (but from then until 1860, more than 250,000 slaves are smug­gled into the US). The Amer­i­can Sto­ry, the ardu­ous and painfilled path we are on towards a true democ­ra­cy and the ful­fill­ment of our stat­ed ide­al of equal­i­ty was set in place and remains to this day.

1816
The sec­ond New Moon was in 1816 at 22 degrees of Leo in the 8^th house. The sign of Leo is about lead­er­ship, it rules self-affir­ma­tion by self-expres­sion, courage, and lead­er­ship. This peri­od began with the preser­va­tion of the USA as a sep­a­rate nation after the defeat of England’s attempt to take back its for­mer colonies in the War of 1812. The north­ern bor­der for the USA was fixed between Cana­da in an agree­ment with the Unit­ed King­dom, and the offi­cial US flag is adopt­ed, with 13 bars & stripes and a field of stars. The Mis­souri com­pro­mise was adopt­ed allow­ing for it to be admit­ted as a state with slav­ery but bar­ring any future slave states west of the Mis­sis­sip­pi, and in 1830 Con­gress approves the Indi­an Removal Act to relo­cate all Native peo­ples who live east of the Mis­sis­sip­pi river.

The Full Moon of 1831 begins with Nat Turner’s slave revolt in which 57 whites are killed (and he is cap­tured and hanged), and with the infa­mous “Trail of Tears”, the forced reset­tle­ment of the Chero­kee Nation over the course of six years. This is also when the ter­ri­to­ry of Texas begins its attempt to break free of Mex­i­co and declare inde­pen­dence, and it remains a con­test­ed region between Tex­ans and Mex­i­co until the Mex­i­can War of 1846.

1846
The third New Moon was in 1846 at 21 degrees of Vir­go in the 9^th house. Vir­go is the sign that gov­erns the prin­ci­pal of Order and Orga­ni­za­tion, of the dri­ve to greater Whole­ness. This peri­od encom­passed the dra­mat­ic expan­sion of the ter­ri­to­ry of the USA through the War with Mex­i­co and the seizure of the lands that would become the states of Texas, New Mex­i­co, Ari­zona, Neva­da, Col­orado, Utah, and Cal­i­for­nia. The prin­ci­pal rea­son for the War with Mex­i­co, was Mexico’s attempt to reassert con­trol over Texas and ban slav­ery in the ter­ri­to­ry. Texas slave own­ers rebelled, and the USA joined in the cause of lib­er­at­ing Texas from Mex­i­can con­trol and influ­ence, and by this inter­ven­tion pre­serv­ing slav­ery in Texas. But the cause against slav­ery was mount­ing through­out the coun­try, and this peri­od brought about the cli­max in this strug­gle over whether slav­ery would con­tin­ue or be ended.

It is quite remark­able to note that the Full Moon for this cycle occurred in 1861, when the Civ­il War com­menced. Of course, we can note that this is the same peri­od in which the tran­sits to the USA chart had both Plu­to square to Plu­to, and the pas­sage of Nep­tune oppo­site Nep­tune and square to Mars that we are wit­ness­ing in 2021 again, and that we will expe­ri­ence our very first Plu­to return in 2022. The ener­gy-forms of our Civ­il War are echo­ing around us once again.

1876
The fourth New Moon was in 1876 at 20 degrees of Libra in the 10^th house. Libra is the sign that gov­erns the expe­ri­ence of Rela­tion­ship, which to me is the field of ener­gies form­ing our expe­ri­ences with one anoth­er. The strug­gle for free­dom and equal­i­ty that was achieved after the Civ­il War was bro­ken as the Recon­struc­tion of the South­ern States end­ed dur­ing this New Moon. This turn­ing away from jus­tice hap­pened with the dis­put­ed elec­tion of 1876 which was resolved when Repub­li­cans came to an agree­ment with Democ­rats. The Repub­li­cans would take the Pres­i­den­cy, but with the under­stand­ing that Fed­er­al enforce­ment of Recon­struc­tion would end. What fol­lowed was the sys­tem­at­ic exclu­sion of black voic­es and vot­ers in the South, which con­tin­ued until the 1960’s. This was also the year that the US ordered all native peo­ples onto reser­va­tions lead­ing to the War with the Sioux and the Bat­tle of Lit­tle Big Horn.

The cli­max of this cycle was the Full Moon in 1890, and the Mas­sacre at Wound­ed Knee becomes the last and most trag­ic act in the Wars against the Native peo­ples, end­ing the US Mil­i­tary cam­paigns against Native Amer­i­cans. This peri­od is also when the indus­tri­al growth of the coun­try leads to the rise of what will be come be called the “Gild­ed Age”, with tycoons and major monop­o­lies ris­ing to pow­er in the US econ­o­my and influ­ence over the polit­i­cal world. This con­cen­tra­tion of pow­er led to the ris­ing cho­rus of pro­gres­sive reform­ers seek­ing to both address eco­nom­ic injus­tice and cor­rupt polit­i­cal systems.

1905
The fifth New Moon was in 1905 at 20 degrees of Scor­pio in the 11^th house. Scor­pio gov­erns the prin­ci­pal of Union, of Joint Ven­tures and the Pow­er of Alche­my. In this peri­od, Ted­dy Roo­sevelt began his sec­ond term and the Pro­gres­sive move­ment, that had begun in the late 1800s con­tin­ued to make strides in reign­ing in the excess­es of the Gild­ed Age and Monop­o­lies, as reform­ers attempt­ed to cre­ate a more equi­table eco­nom­ic and polit­i­cal order. Among the reforms, this peri­od sees the enact­ment of a Nation­al Income Tax and the direct elec­tion of Senators.

The Full Moon of this peri­od is in 1920 and begins with women secur­ing the right to vote with the pas­sage of the 19^th amend­ment, which is the great­est expan­sion of the right to vote in the USA ever. This advance­ment is fol­lowed in 1924 when Native Amer­i­cans are des­ig­nat­ed Cit­i­zens of the USA and become eli­gi­ble to vote as well. Of course, by the end of the 1920’s the coun­try and the entire world descends into the abyss of the Great Depression.

1935
The sixth New Moon was in 1935 at 20 degrees of Sagit­tar­ius in the 1^st house. Sagit­tar­ius is the hold­er of Truth, of how we under­stand and know our­selves and our world and embody these in our con­duct and laws and prac­tices. FDR took office in March of 1933, but it was in 1935 that the Social Secu­ri­ty Act was passed, for­ev­er chang­ing the rela­tion­ship of the peo­ple of the USA and their gov­ern­ment. World War II leads to the great­est col­lec­tive effort by the US gov­ern­ment as Amer­i­ca becomes the “Arse­nal of Democ­ra­cy” and with the Allied Pow­ers defeats Fas­cism in Ger­many and Japan in 1945.

The Full Moon in 1949 begins with Har­ry Tru­man hav­ing been elect­ed to the Pres­i­den­cy, and the post-World War II era begins with the Cold War with the Sovi­et Union, and nuclear arms race com­menc­ing and con­tin­u­ing under Eisen­how­er. The pan­ic over the threat of com­mu­nism leads to a series of vio­la­tions of civ­il rights dur­ing the 1950’s and 60’s. But this peri­od equal­ly wit­ness­es the ris­ing strug­gle for civ­il rights in the South and the North. Among the advances are a series of Supreme Court rul­ings like Brown vs Board of Edu­ca­tion. That rul­ing declared that seg­re­ga­tion, the pol­i­cy of “sep­a­rate but equal”, vio­lat­ed the 14^th Amend­ment, the very Amend­ment which was part of the abo­li­tion of Slav­ery, and had been rat­i­fied after the Civ­il War in 1868, and which guar­an­tees that all per­sons born in the USA to be cit­i­zens and requir­ing equal pro­tec­tion under the law.

1965
The sev­enth New Moon was in 1965 at 20 degrees of Capri­corn in the 2^nd house. Capri­corn gov­erns the prin­ci­pal of Respon­si­bil­i­ty and the Insti­tu­tion­al Order. The strug­gle for racial jus­tice and equal­i­ty from the end of World War II leads to the pas­sage of sev­er­al laws, includ­ing the Vot­ing Rights Act of 1965. If we are to have a democ­ra­cy, then each cit­i­zen must be allowed to vote, but the awful truth had been that since fail­ure of Recon­struc­tion in the 1870’s almost the entire black pop­u­la­tion of the South­ern States had nev­er vot­ed, because they were pre­vent­ed from doing so. Many his­to­ri­ans agree that this is when we might observe that the promise of Democ­ra­cy and equal rights was being made pos­si­ble in the USA for the first time in our his­to­ry. Unfor­tu­nate­ly, the reac­tion of those who do not want equal­i­ty and jus­tice for all Amer­i­cans would begin their coor­di­nat­ed efforts to over­turn this progress.

After the Full Moon of 1979, and the elec­tion of Ronald Rea­gan in 1980, we were led by a Pres­i­dent who declared that the real prob­lem with the USA was our very own gov­ern­ment, and part of the solu­tion was to reduce the pow­er of the fed­er­al government’s pro­tec­tion of minor­i­ty rights. His admin­is­tra­tion enacts a series of con­ser­v­a­tive poli­cies that are direct­ed towards revers­ing the more equi­table divi­sion of eco­nom­ic and polit­i­cal progress that had been achieved by both par­ties since the days of FDR in the 1930’s. What was the result? Just look at the trend­lines for eco­nom­ic growth for the USA from the 1940’s to 1980, and then from 1980 to today, and you will note the grow­ing inequal­i­ty of income and wealth that began in 1980 and has led to the wealth gap and crush­ing eco­nom­ic inequal­i­ties of today. This result was seed­ed by the poli­cies imple­ment­ed dur­ing this peri­od that began in the 1980’s. We have now in the 2020’s the most unequal dis­tri­b­u­tion of wealth that we have ever had. The progress that we had made, of a more equi­table growth for most Amer­i­cans from 1940 to 1980 has been com­plete­ly undone and reversed from 1980 until now. And this is no acci­dent, poli­cies were pur­sued, tax laws were changed, and pro­grams end­ed so that the very few would ben­e­fit from the wealth that we all help to create.

1994
The eighth New Moon was in 1994 at 20 degrees of Aquar­ius in the 2^nd house. Aquar­ius holds the dreams of Human­i­ty, that one day we will indeed be broth­ers and sis­ters who live with jus­tice and equal­i­ty. But in 1994, aris­ing from the back­lash against the Civ­il Rights move­ment in the 1960’s and 1970’s, the polit­i­cal divi­sion of the coun­try shift­ed dra­mat­i­cal­ly, with a gen­er­a­tional move from demo­c­ra­t­ic to repub­li­can con­trol of the south­ern and west­ern states, which final­ly led to the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives being led by a Repub­li­can major­i­ty for the first time in 40 years in 1994. Their stat­ed agen­da was to con­tin­ue the dis­man­tling of the pow­er and author­i­ty of the cen­tral gov­ern­ment, with the pur­pose being the elim­i­na­tion of social pro­grams that addressed pover­ty and dis­crim­i­na­tion. The con­tin­u­ing and unsus­tain­able warp­ing of income and wealth dis­tri­b­u­tion accel­er­at­ed lead­ing to the sec­ond great eco­nom­ic cri­sis in US his­to­ry in 2008.

The Full Moon of 2008 arrived as the Repub­li­can poli­cies to cut tax­es, remove reg­u­la­tions, and gut safe­ty pro­grams cre­ates the con­di­tions for the Sec­ond Great Depres­sion in US His­to­ry, lead­ing to the sur­pris­ing elec­tion of the first black pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States, Barack Oba­ma. But once in office, the lead­er­ship in the Repub­li­can par­ty declares that their sole mis­sion is to make cer­tain that Obama’s pro­grams are thwart­ed. Nev­er­the­less, he is reelect­ed but is only able to imple­ment his reforms through most­ly exec­u­tive actions, which can be undone by a fol­low­ing Pres­i­dent. Then in 2016, Don­ald Trump is elect­ed to office with the stat­ed pur­pose of doing every­thing he can to reverse all of Obama’s reforms and advances. The con­tin­u­ing ero­sion of equi­ty and jus­tice in the US, and the mount­ing loss of faith in the sys­tem of self-gov­ern­ment dur­ing his four years, leads to his defeat in 2020 and the elec­tion of Joe Biden, a cen­trist demo­c­ra­t­ic now reborn as a reformer and heal­er for the nation. But Trump and his allies refuse to con­cede and pro­mote an alter­nate sto­ry of a stolen elec­tion. This lie pro­vokes an insur­rec­tion­ist mob to attempt to stop the cer­ti­fi­ca­tion of the elec­tion on Jan­u­ary 6, 2021. The images of riot­ers storm­ing the capi­tol, car­ries echoes of anoth­er per­ilous peri­od that holds sim­i­lar Astro­log­i­cal con­di­tions to our own, the late 1850’s and 1860’s.

This nation is divid­ed into two broad­ly and rad­i­cal­ly dif­fer­ent ideas of the sto­ry of Amer­i­ca, and as Abra­ham Lin­coln stat­ed, “a house divid­ed against itself can­not stand…” One way or anoth­er, our divi­sions with­in our­selves and between one anoth­er will be resolved.

Which brings us to our next new moon…

2024
The ninth and next New Moon for the USA will be in 2024 at 20 degrees of Pisces in the 3^rd house. Pisces holds the final les­son and ulti­mate gift of Spir­it, as it is the vehi­cle of our Imag­i­na­tion, the source of our poten­tial to be and become what­ev­er we dream to be. But it also holds our great­est chal­lenge, the neces­si­ty that we over­come our fears if we are to become what we will be, if we are to build a bet­ter world. This is the sto­ry of Human­i­ty found at the core of Pisces, that we are here to acknowl­edge that we made what we are, by what we dream and what we fear, and we quite sim­ply must choose between thriv­ing by faith or suf­fer­ing in fear.

If we choose Faith, that we believe in our­selves and in one anoth­er, then we will remain on the Path of Love and the Way of Hope. We will look for the ways in which we can reach into the hearts of one anoth­er and see that we are broth­ers and sis­ters, know­ing that not even one of us can ever be tru­ly ful­filled until we all are free to be our very best too.

It seems quite sig­nif­i­cant to me, giv­en where we find our­selves today, that we will have this New Moon dur­ing our next pres­i­den­tial elec­tion of 2024, and I am cer­tain that we will see our time as the moment in which “Love and Under­stand­ing” was restored with­in us and between us, because the myr­i­ad chal­lenges we have cre­at­ed for our­selves can only be resolved by help­ing one another.

The promise of Amer­i­ca has nev­er been met, but over the last 250 years many coura­geous and lov­ing souls have moved us clos­er to Lincoln’s plea to lis­ten to “the angels of our bet­ter nature”. We can be among those who brought us that much clos­er to our ideals of Equal­i­ty and Jus­tice for all, if we remain faith­ful to our ideals, if we are guid­ed by our open minds, and if we act through our for­giv­ing and Lov­ing hearts.

Let it be so…
