Tran­script of Radio Show: The Great Muta­tion — Sat­urn and Jupiter

In my last three shows I spoke about the out­er­most plan­ets, Plu­to, Nep­tune, and Uranus, which I like to call the Tri­ad of Spir­it. They are the Avatars, for us here on Earth, for the upper­most prin­ci­ples of the Divine. In order they rep­re­sent the Will of God, The Love of God, and the Mind of God. They hold for us the truth about the path to our spir­i­tu­al unfold­ment, where­in we strive to devel­op ever more Cen­tered Wills, Uncon­di­tion­al Love and Freer Minds.

I exam­ined their role in their inter­sect­ing cycles and inter­de­pen­dent influ­ences for our cur­rent peri­od and com­pared that to sim­i­lar moments in his­to­ry. For today, I will con­tin­ue this expla­na­tion of mun­dane plan­e­tary influ­ences by exam­in­ing the cycle of rela­tion­ship of the next two plan­ets (mov­ing clos­er to Earth), Sat­urn and Jupiter.

Sat­urn and Jupiter
Sat­urn is the Avatar of Real­i­ty and is gen­er­al­ly known as the plan­et of lim­i­ta­tion and cau­tion. In Mun­dane Astrol­o­gy, Sat­urn is the ruler of Insti­tu­tions (fam­i­ly, com­mu­ni­ty, busi­ness, and gov­ern­ment). It rules Civ­il Soci­ety, Law Enforce­ment, Chief Exec­u­tives, Cor­po­ra­tions, Real Estate, and Pub­lic Build­ings. Sat­urn is the plan­et of Realism.

Jupiter is the Avatar of Truth, and as Saturn’s coun­ter­part it is gen­er­al­ly known as the plan­et of expan­sion and opti­mism. In Mun­dane Astrol­o­gy, Jupiter rules the realms of Truth and Wis­dom, (Meta­phys­i­cal, Reli­gious, Philo­soph­i­cal and Sci­en­tif­ic); it rules the Legal Sys­tem, Church­es, Uni­ver­si­ties, Pub­lish­ing. Jupiter is the plan­et of Idealism.

Jupiter pro­vides the mean­ings to Saturn’s real­i­ty struc­tures; Sat­urn pro­vides the vehi­cles for the real­iza­tion of Jupiter’s Truths. They are always held togeth­er; like all plan­e­tary pairs, they mod­u­late and shape one anoth­er, and we can see this dynam­ic inter­play in their cycle of rela­tion­ship with one another.

The orbit of Sat­urn is about 29 years, spend­ing about two and one-half years in a sign. The orbit of Jupiter is about 12 years, spend­ing about one year in a sign. Their syn­od­ic peri­od, mov­ing from one Jupiter con­junc­tion with Sat­urn to the next is about 20 years. Since they rule two oppo­site prin­ci­ples, “Growth” ver­sus “Lim­i­ta­tion”, these con­junc­tions every 20 years have been care­ful­ly not­ed by Mun­dane Astrology.

Jupiter/Saturn Con­junc­tions
What we find is that at each Con­junc­tion there is some change, often a rever­sal of trends from the pre­vi­ous 20-year peri­od in the cul­ture, econ­o­my and polit­i­cal nature of a com­mu­ni­ty or cul­ture. What hap­pens is that the Jupiter force expands along a cer­tain path­way of mean­ing until it encoun­ters the hard lim­i­ta­tions of Sat­urn real­i­ties. Astrologers call this end­ing and begin­ning of their cycle at the con­junc­tion a Mutation.

After three con­junc­tions or 60 years, their posi­tion will be rough­ly 9 degrees fur­ther along in that sign. That means in 40 con­junc­tions, (40 x 9 equal­ing 360 degrees), they com­plete a cycle through the Zodi­ac. Those 40 con­junc­tions x 20 years adds up to 800 years. What we observe, is that for rough­ly 200 years their align­ments will occur in the same ele­ment (Fire, Earth, Air or Water), and we call these series of con­junc­tions in the same ele­ment the Less­er Muta­tions. But every 200 years or so their con­junc­tion will move into the next ele­ment for the next 200 years, and Astrologers call that a Great Muta­tion. That is what is hap­pen­ing this Decem­ber 2020.

The last time Jupiter and Sat­urn shift­ed like this was 1840, when they moved from the ele­ment of Fire to Earth. This time they will begin their 200-year cycle in Air start­ing with Aquar­ius. (There are those who say that this is one more indi­ca­tor that we are mov­ing into the oft men­tioned “Age of Aquar­ius”, and there are oth­er cycles and signs that point to this too).

Look­ing to the USA, we can observe the his­to­ry of their Earth Con­junc­tions since 1840, and it can help us under­stand and delin­eate the char­ac­ter and mean­ing of each 20-year peri­od. They reveal a pat­tern of unfold­ing ener­gy-forms that bring us to the great turn­ing point we are now approach­ing. We would expect that through­out this 200-year Earthy peri­od the root char­ac­ter of these Jupiter-Sat­urn seeds would be dom­i­nat­ed by con­sid­er­a­tions of the phys­i­cal world, on mat­ters of wealth and pro­duc­tion, and social­ly and spir­i­tu­al­ly on ques­tions of how mate­r­i­al val­ues are under­stood and manifested.

Jupiter/Saturn Con­junc­tions and the USA
If we divide these peri­ods accord­ing to the US Pres­i­dents pre­sid­ing at the start of each peri­od, we will find the following:

1840–1860 (Har­ri­son) This was a peri­od of great expan­sion for the USA, prin­ci­pal­ly accom­plished by the seizure from Mex­i­co of much of the west­ern parts of the Unit­ed States in the Mex­i­can War, which added Texas, New Mex­i­co, Ari­zona, and Cal­i­for­nia. Spir­i­tu­al­ly and Mate­ri­al­ly, it was also the peri­od lead­ing up to the most con­se­quen­tial cri­sis for the Unit­ed States, the Civ­il War, as this peri­od was char­ac­ter­ized by the ris­ing exis­ten­tial strug­gle over the ques­tion of whether new states would enter as Free or Slave, with the slave-hold­ing states dom­i­nat­ing the Fed­er­al gov­ern­ment and the Supreme court.

1860–1880 (Lin­coln) Begins with the Civ­il War which leads to the defeat of the Con­fed­er­ate South, the elim­i­na­tion of Slav­ery and an end to the polit­i­cal and eco­nom­ic dom­i­nance of the South­ern states. But the attempt at Recon­struc­tion in the South “fails”, and the true eman­ci­pa­tion, and polit­i­cal and eco­nom­ic equal­i­ty of the for­mer slaves was denied for the next 100 years.

1880–1900 (Garfield) Wit­nessed the “end of the fron­tier”, as the repeat­ed series of seizures of land, bro­ken treaties, and removal of native peo­ples for many hun­dreds of years was fin­ished at the Wound­ed Knee Mas­sacre in 1890. This peri­od also saw the rise of Indus­tri­al Cap­i­tal­ism and of great Monop­o­lies giv­ing this peri­od its title of “The Gild­ed Age” or the “Age of Rob­ber Barons”. It was also the begin­ning of the USA’s own colo­nial expan­sion by the seizure of Hawaii, and the Span­ish ter­ri­to­ries in the Caribbean and Philip­pines in the Span­ish-Amer­i­can War.

1900–1920 (McKin­ley) The USA emerged onto the world stage as a ris­ing pow­er eco­nom­i­cal­ly and polit­i­cal­ly, espe­cial­ly with its crit­i­cal entrance into WW I. But the unfet­tered cap­i­tal­ism of the Gild­ed Age had also led to the Pro­gres­sive Reform move­ment, with attempts to rein in the excess pow­er of the Monied class by reforms in the civ­il soci­ety and gov­ern­ment reg­u­la­tions, lead­ing to a nation­al income tax and a more robust reg­u­la­to­ry structure.

1920–1940 (Hard­ing) The end of World War I, Suf­frage with the vote for Women and then Pro­hi­bi­tion, were the final acts of the reform era, which led to the Roar­ing Twen­ties and a bub­ble of wild spec­u­la­tion that end­ed with the Great Depres­sion start­ing in 1929. Roo­sevelt attempt­ed with the New Deal to build a more sus­tain­able econ­o­my, and the USA began to move towards a more equi­table dis­tri­b­u­tion of wealth. But many agree it is WW II that restores the eco­nom­ic indus­tri­al engine of the Unit­ed States, which becomes the “Arse­nal of Democ­ra­cy” lead­ing the Allies against the Axis powers.

1940–1960 (Roo­sevelt) The Bat­tles of WW II and its con­clu­sion leads to the Mar­shall Plan for re-build­ing Europe and the emer­gence of the Cold War, with the divide between the East and the West, between Cap­i­tal­ist ver­sus Com­mu­nist coun­tries. The USA is the dom­i­nant world pow­er lead­ing the West against the USSR.

1960–1980 (Kennedy) The Cold War reach­es its cli­max in the Nuclear Arms race, and the Unit­ed States enters the dis­as­trous Viet­nam War. Mean­while domes­ti­cal­ly, the Civ­il Rights move­ment leads to a back­lash and the Demo­c­ra­t­ic South turns Repub­li­can. The Eco­nom­ic imbal­ances gen­er­at­ed by the Viet­nam War and Johnson’s Great Soci­ety leads in the late 1970’s to what becomes known as Stagfla­tion and grind­ing eco­nom­ic malaise.

1980–2000 (Rea­gan) The Rea­gan Rev­o­lu­tion takes on the growth of the so-called “wel­fare state” by slash­ing tax­es and pro­grams, a rever­sal of Roosevelt’s New Deal and Johnson’s Great Soci­ety. The more or less equi­table dis­tri­b­u­tion in the growth of wealth in the USA from 1940 is halt­ed, and so once again the rise of the great inequal­i­ty between the haves and have nots begins. Rea­gan claimed that “Gov­ern­ment is the Prob­lem” and the Repub­li­can par­ty and neo-lib­er­al move­ment push­es an agen­da of cut­ting tax­es while promis­ing more rev­enue, (from what they claimed would be a robust growth in the econ­o­my), but the elder George Bush calls the move “Voodoo Eco­nom­ics”. Lat­er, Clin­ton as a cen­trist demo­c­ra­t­ic moves the coun­try fur­ther down this path of grow­ing inequal­i­ty, which was masked for a time by a gen­er­al rise in eco­nom­ic growth brought about by the end of the “Cold War”. The rise in wealth is increas­ing­ly dis­trib­uted to the top 10%.

2000–2020 (Bush) The Bush pres­i­den­cy is shocked by 9/11, as the forces unleashed by the end of the Cold War and Russia’s War in Afghanistan comes home to the Unit­ed States. The War against Ter­ror begins, (and has not end­ed), as the Fed­er­al Reserve keeps inter­est rates low to sup­port the increas­ing­ly unequal growth of wealth in the econ­o­my. This arti­fi­cial­ly low inter­est rate struc­ture sows the seeds for the Mort­gage cri­sis in 2006 and 2007 lead­ing to the Sec­ond Great Depres­sion start­ing in 2008. Oba­ma sta­bi­lizes the econ­o­my, but the eco­nom­ic imbal­ances remain and lead to a fur­ther splin­ter­ing of the coun­try between the haves and the have nots. With nei­ther Democ­rats nor Repub­li­cans address­ing the unsus­tain­able imbal­ance of wealth in the coun­try, Trump is elect­ed as a pop­ulist, with promis­es to fight as an out­sider and icon­o­clast. But he enacts anoth­er typ­i­cal tax cut that rewards the wealthy, while fur­ther erod­ing the social safe­ty net. The abysmal state of that safe­ty net is ful­ly revealed by the dis­as­trous response to the Pan­dem­ic of 2020.

The Future
2020–2040 (Biden)

We do not know what lies ahead of us now, but we do know there is a new era emerg­ing. With the Decem­ber Jupiter/Saturn Great Muta­tion Con­junc­tion ush­er­ing in a 200-year peri­od, and the Ener­gy-Form that will be at the root of this new era will be guid­ed by Air not Earth. What might this mean?

Pre­vi­ous Age of Air
The pre­vi­ous Age of Air was from 1226 to 1425 and marked the tran­si­tion from the Mid­dle Ages to the Renais­sance in Europe. Among the sig­na­ture events: The trans­la­tion from Ara­bic ver­sions into Latin of Greek works of art and phi­los­o­phy, seed­ing a rebirth of clas­si­cal under­stand­ing and intel­lec­tu­al growth; new demo­c­ra­t­ic assem­blies form in Switzer­land and Eng­land; the advent of Human­ism with the study of clas­si­cal lit­er­a­ture as a liv­ing tra­di­tion; the inven­tion of mov­able type in Korea, and print­ing press­es in Europe among many oth­er dis­cov­er­ies and inven­tions. The move­ment towards rea­son and crit­i­cal think­ing estab­lished the foun­da­tion for the Renais­sance and the lat­er age of Enlightenment.

Par­a­digm for Past 200 Years
The last 200 years have been shaped as an Age of Earth con­junc­tions, and it cer­tain­ly has become appar­ent that over this peri­od the gov­ern­ing par­a­digm and goal was to have “More of More Things”. The accu­mu­la­tion of wealth and pos­ses­sions became the dri­ving pur­pose of life. The more things you had (and con­sumed), the hap­pi­er you would be. But it turns out that this is just not true, not at all.

The pre­sid­ing cul­tur­al ide­olo­gies and even vari­ants of many reli­gions of this peri­od have not been guid­ed by con­cerns for the high­est moral good or the well-being of oth­er humans (or oth­er life-forms, or for the plan­et in gen­er­al). Most of the thought-ener­gy-forms in our cul­tur­al, polit­i­cal, and spir­i­tu­al spheres have been shaped and bound to the only val­ue that has but one dimen­sion, the Val­ue of Quantity.

Over the arc of the past 200 years it would seem to an out­side observ­er that the only good was end­less, mate­ri­al­is­tic pro­duc­tion in ser­vice to an unquench­able con­sump­tion of things. More of more was sup­posed to make you hap­pi­er. But the more peo­ple had, the more they want­ed. Whole ecosys­tems and envi­ron­ments, and whole species were and have been sac­ri­ficed for the pur­suit of wealth and pow­er. It was not “Life” that mat­tered; what mat­tered was the so-called “good life” as humans pur­sued ever more mate­r­i­al pleasures.

The Price
What has been the price? We have end­ed with a neo-lib­er­al eco­nom­ic sys­tem, where­in the pur­pose of life is dri­ven by the free­dom to pur­sue this one-dimen­sion­al val­ue of quan­ti­ty at the expense of every­thing else, where only more of more mate­r­i­al things mat­tered. And the price of all these things? This amass­ing of quan­ti­ties has come at the cost of steal­ing from the future of our descen­dants. We have been thieves, and we are to this very day steal­ing their future still. With regards to those who come after us, we will have left them so much less than we had. We drank their water, we breathed their air, we ate their food, and we are leav­ing them a bro­ken world where they will strug­gle to sur­vive; it will be a world that be will unrec­og­niz­able to you or to me, and it will be a world that is more and more unliv­able for most of human­i­ty and many oth­er species.

I do not mean to say that this “Age of Earth” had to have turned out this way, that is not true at all. The Ener­gy-Forms pre­sid­ing in any peri­od may man­i­fest in a whole array of beliefs and actions, and that will lead to a range of pos­si­ble out­comes. There were many oth­er influ­encers in the arc of our jour­ney that led to this cri­sis; and innu­mer­able choic­es were made by humans in this peri­od, (and indeed in the pri­or peri­ods of Great Muta­tion Epochs, like the pro­ceed­ing peri­od of Fire from 1663 to 1842, and of Water from 1425 to 1663). All of these con­tributed to the shap­ing of human desires, capa­bil­i­ties and actions that pro­duced the exis­ten­tial threat of Cli­mate Change that we face now.

The good news is we cre­at­ed this; it was not because of an aster­oid strik­ing the Earth, it was not the result of world-wide vol­canic erup­tions. These past Extinc­tion Events came from so-called “nat­ur­al” or “exter­nal” caus­es. The good news is we made this cri­sis; the good news, now that we know, is that we can choose to change. We can still make a dif­fer­ent future if we act now.

Ener­gy-Forms and Power
What we must do is face real­i­ty, to see what we have made; we need to under­stand what we have done and decide what we need to do. Slow­ly at first, but increas­ing­ly from the 1840’s onwards, we made a world-wide civ­i­liza­tion that is built upon the pow­er of ener­gy-forms that had been locked away for mil­lions of years in coal, and oil and gas. We thought we were so clever, so intel­li­gent and crafty. We released stu­pen­dous amounts of ener­gy to amass wealth and pow­er; but we did not ful­ly account for the true costs for the life-forms on this planet.

Through a lack of under­stand­ing (and humil­i­ty) we changed the del­i­cate bal­ance of ener­gy-forms and life-forms on this plan­et. And we did this in what amounts to a geo­log­i­cal sec­ond. What might have changed over tens of thou­sands of years we did in mere decades. We are the cre­ators of this New Earth where whole species and ecosys­tems are van­ish­ing year after year; we have moved our world from a benign and liv­able plan­et to what many are call­ing a “hot-house” Earth. The increas­ing­ly dra­mat­ic Cli­mate Change effects (and make no mis­take the 2020 Pan­dem­ic is anoth­er unin­tend­ed but direct exam­ple of this), have been the result of our cre­at­ing mate­r­i­al wealth through the destruc­tion of the web of life on this plan­et. There is no way to bal­ance our gain with this ter­ri­ble loss; the spir­i­tu­al bal­ance sheet for human­i­ty is very much in the neg­a­tive at this point in history.

Will this be our lega­cy? Will we be the first ones who are not hon­ored but instead are cursed by our children’s chil­dren? Will we be remem­bered for our self­ish­ness and greed?

How
How did this hap­pen? Because we humans came to believe that we are sep­a­rate and apart from all oth­er life-forms on this plan­et; we made them into the “oth­er”, less than us, and so destroyed the bal­ance of life on this plan­et. And then, we also sep­a­rat­ed our­selves from one anoth­er, we divid­ed humans into “us and them” by race, eth­nic­i­ty, creed, and cul­ture; and so, we con­tin­ue to destroy one anoth­er too.

Why
Why did this hap­pen? Because we for­got the first Truth: You are here to love one anoth­er; and so, you are equal­ly here to love life and pro­tect this pre­cious plan­et and the many lives that depend upon it now and for the gen­er­a­tions to come. For it is cer­tain­ly true that your lives depend upon one anoth­er and on these oth­er life-forms too. We are sup­posed to take care of one anoth­er and this plan­et; to love and pre­serve lives, not to destroy them.

What I hope for, what I believe, is that this Age of Air, (along with oth­er plan­e­tary shifts), will bring us into a “Great Awak­en­ing”, (in fact, I believe that is what we are expe­ri­enc­ing now). I believe we will turn from destruc­tion to preser­va­tion; we will turn from self­ish­ness to self­less­ness; we will turn from tak­ing to giv­ing; we will turn from greed to love. I believe we will because we must.

Sac­ri­fice
We must hon­or those and love those who will come after us by choos­ing to sac­ri­fice for one anoth­er and for all life on this plan­et now. This Age of Air can and hope­ful­ly will ush­er in a new glob­al con­scious­ness found­ed upon a New Prin­ci­ple: that the first Fun­da­men­tal and Pre­sid­ing Val­ue of Spir­it is Love and the most impor­tant con­sid­er­a­tion for all our actions shall be to take care of one anoth­er and to pre­serve and pro­tect All Life on this plan­et, our Earth, our Beau­ti­ful Home.

We are here to walk in beau­ty; we are here to be sur­round­ed by beau­ty; we are here to love and be loved. Let us live as we were meant to live, sur­round­ed by beau­ty, and liv­ing by love.

It is not too late; but there is no time to wait.

We will be the ones remem­bered for their sac­ri­fice; we will be the ones who faced with the self­ish option to live for now and for our­selves, that we chose instead to pre­serve, to pro­tect and make pos­si­ble a bet­ter world for those who come after us.

Let this be our moment; let this be our sacred covenant with one anoth­er and our descendants.

Let us be the ones they remem­ber for our sac­ri­fice, courage, and love,

Let it be so; let us make it so.

The Tri­ad of Spirt formed by Plu­to, Nep­tune and Uranus are the long-wave time­keep­ers of Spir­i­tu­al Unfold­ment. Today I want to exam­ine the next lev­el of influ­encers in our jour­ney, the indi­ca­tions formed by the plan­ets Sat­urn and Jupiter and their role in his­to­ry, and of course for us right now.

The Gift of Scorpio

You are not what you seem. Oh no, you are much more than this phys­i­cal body of flesh, blood, and bone. That is your vehi­cle; but it is not you. You are more than that, you know. And now you also under­stand that you are not you with­out one anoth­er too; this is the gift of rela­tion­ship met in the realm of Libra.

You are a spark of the Divine; you are an Immor­tal in a beau­ti­ful but mor­tal body. Your body is your home and your means to exist as a phys­i­cal being on this earth­ly plane. But every­thing and every­one on Earth is here for a tru­ly short time; we move from life to life and through form after form as we make our way through the stars.

Behind all the innu­mer­able forms you live as a mor­tal, behind them all is what resides in your heart of Spir­it, the Noume­na of Cre­ation; behind the phe­nom­e­na of Spir­it-Life-Con­scious­ness there is just the One, whose Cen­ter is Every­where and whose Cir­cum­fer­ence is Nowhere. The whole of Cre­ation is a field of ener­gy-forms that are all held in the One Field of the One. You, yes you, are a micro­cosm of the cos­mos, and your own field of ener­gy-forms moves through a hier­ar­chy of oth­er ener­gy-forms. The Uni­verse is known Meta­phys­i­cal­ly and Sci­en­tif­i­cal­ly as a Full­ness or Plero­ma, an unimag­in­ably vast Field of Ener­gy-Forms. And we humans? We are all sparks of the Divine, Lumi­nous Bub­bles of Ener­gy-Forms too; we are but lit­tle Light-Forms who in our com­bi­na­tion with many oth­er life-forms are the Radi­ance of the One.

The Uni­verse is a Hier­ar­chy of wholes. Each less­er whole, like we humans, seems to be sep­a­rate from the oth­ers. Be we are, of course, shaped, live and thrive through all the greater and more encom­pass­ing wholes (for exam­ple of fam­i­ly, friends, com­mu­ni­ties). These innu­mer­able wholes in every king­dom or realm form the Cos­mos, like wheels with­in wheels, which we can ulti­mate­ly com­pre­hend and encom­pass into the holi­est of wholes, the One.

It is your great­est illu­sion to believe and act as if you are sep­a­rate and apart from any­thing and any­one. You are inex­tri­ca­bly and won­drous­ly part of one anoth­er; your field of self­hood has been, and will always be, made from all the con­tacts, con­nec­tions, mix­ings and trans­for­ma­tions that you have had since your birth as an “inde­pen­dent” being.

From Mother/Father, Sister/Brother, Friend/Lover, from casu­al to inti­mate, long-lived or short, and mere­ly chance encoun­ters too, you have been made by your connecting/blending/transforming into you; your ener­gy-field has been made from and by so many oth­ers. They have become part of you, and you will always be part of them.

Your sen­si­bil­i­ties, ideas, thoughts, beliefs, truths, and wis­dom too…all of it you owe to oth­ers, as they also owe theirs to you. We are one another’s means to be who we are. From our first breath we became the means to one another’s becom­ing human; we are for one anoth­er the agents of awak­en­ing and becom­ing more ful­ly human in this our fam­i­ly of the human.

But know this too, much of what made you was by count­less semi to uncon­scious acts, con­nec­tions, and blending’s with many oth­ers; it just hap­pened. That is per­fect­ly fine, but it is not enough. Not if you are to become a tru­ly Con­scious Co-Cre­ator of Creation.

Here in Scor­pio you take the most impor­tant step. You Choose; you move into Con­scious­ly Cre­at­ed Spaces of Union. Hav­ing first estab­lished the space that is rela­tion­ship as a mutu­al­ly con­scious act in Libra, it is here in the Realm of Scor­pio, in the Sacred Space of Alche­my, that  the “I and thou” are formed by mak­ing a self-con­scious­ly aware choice of join­ing in Union with one anoth­er. It is in Scor­pio that the Mys­tery and Mag­ic of Com­bi­na­tion is found.

In this time of Scor­pio, and wher­ev­er Scor­pio is found in your chart, you must choose to enter the “Cru­cible of Union”, the Sacred Space of Spir­it. For every­thing and every­one in the Uni­verse is formed by com­bi­na­tions. This is the source of Spir­i­tu­al Growth. Since the One became the many, atoms have com­bined with oth­er atoms to form larg­er ones, and mol­e­cules with mol­e­cules, and organ­isms with organ­isms. From the largest wholes of Galax­ies, Stars and Plan­ets down to the most infin­i­tes­i­mal of beings, all of Cre­ation is forged and trans­formed by the “Self-Made Motions of Becom­ing” made in the Cru­cible of Spir­it, the Alche­my that is Space.

When­ev­er you enter any joint endeav­or, whether in per­son­al and busi­ness part­ner­ships, in friend­ship or casu­al com­bi­na­tions, and most espe­cial­ly in your most sacred of Holy Unions, you must be pre­pared. It is here in the Sign of Alche­my that you must will­ing­ly and con­scious­ly choose to com­bine with one anoth­er. You enter here a sacred realm, and for this rea­son you must be pre­pared to make your sacrifice.

Yes, in Scor­pio you must choose what you are will­ing to give up so that you might gain some­thing fin­er; you must come to dis­cern what is nego­tiable and what is non-nego­tiable with­in you. In a tru­ly spir­i­tu­al union, you must each give up the less­er with­in you, and by this affirm and secure the greater with­in and between you. And as you each give up some­thing for one anoth­er, and indeed move clos­er to a Union with one anoth­er, you also dis­cov­er the greater mys­tery behind Scor­pio, the mys­tery and joy of re-birth.

For as much as you will by your mutu­al self-sac­ri­fice and mutu­al self-affir­ma­tions move clos­er to one anoth­er, you also real­ize that by this Alchem­i­cal Work you have been brought clos­er to your own true self too. You have done the sacred work, of giv­ing up the less­er to affirm, hon­or and live out the greater in your lives.

Scor­pio is the Forge of Spir­it; it is the realm of Chem­istry in the phys­i­cal world, and Alche­my in the Spir­i­tu­al. It is said that the strongest sign of the Zodi­ac is Scor­pio, and it must be so for a very good rea­son, (but remem­ber, we all have Scor­pio some­where in our charts).

You must be strong, you must be brave, for in Scor­pio you will reach the great­est heights, and plumb the deep­est depths. Yes, you will expe­ri­ence the joy of tru­ly reach­ing out to one anoth­er and becom­ing more one with each oth­er. That Joy will lift you high­er than ever before, and you will feel that there is some­thing more to life than what it appears to be. That there is some­thing, there must be some­thing, that is for­ev­er and ever.

But you will also face the awful truth that what­ev­er you felt, and even if for a moment you feel that some part of you is Immor­tal, you will also know that you live on a mor­tal plane, and that noth­ing here will last. Yes, you will real­ize the bit­ter fruit of your self-aware­ness. That if we are to Love, we will expe­ri­ence Loss; if we are to have Joy, we will also have Pain; these are insep­a­ra­ble for us because we are human, and we know and we feel these truths.

Scor­pio bring us the great­est gift, and the deep­est of challenges.

It is the Joy of Union and the agony of Separation.

But in the end, we will know and under­stand. We have noth­ing to fear.

We are here to become ful­ly human; to dance through forms we made, in life after life.

We are Immor­tals in mor­tal frames, and we are here to shine.

This is the Gift of Scorpio.

Tran­script of Radio Show: The Path of Light, Part 3 Uranus and Individuality

Today’s show is Part 3 of my review of the Hier­ar­chy of Ener­gy-Forms that influ­ence and guide our lives here on Earth. I began in Part 1 by con­sid­er­ing some of the longer-term influ­ences rang­ing from the Galaxy down to our Solar Sys­tem end­ing with the influ­ence of Plu­to. In Part 2, we con­tin­ued by look­ing at the role of Nep­tune. Today I will con­sid­er the role of Uranus.

The Tri­ad of Spirit
These three plan­ets form what I like to call the “Tri­ad of Spir­it”, and they are the prin­ci­pal Avatars for the ener­gy-forms that dri­ve the evo­lu­tion of our Spir­i­tu­al Jour­ney here on Earth. With­in the Will of the One, whose Cir­cum­fer­ence holds the entire­ty of Cre­ation, Plu­to is for us, in our sys­tem, the Avatar of the mak­er of the Bound­aries for and the Con­tain­ers of all the less­er Spir­it-Forms rang­ing from Galax­ies, to Stars to Plan­ets, and all the count­less life-forms that fill the heav­ens. Through­out this seem­ing­ly infini­tude of Con­tain­ers with­in the all-encom­pass­ing One, Nep­tune rep­re­sents for us the Ener­gy-Form that fills these Spaces of Space. It is said that Space is not “emp­ty” but is in truth a Full­ness, called the Plero­ma, and that all of Space is the One. The fun­da­men­tal Ener­gy-Form that fills the Spaces of Space is Life, it is the Love of the One, and we humans know this as Uncon­di­tion­al Love. Uranus is the Third Prin­ci­ple of the Tri­une Nature of God, and from it we are each made into a Self-Aware unique, spe­cial, and indi­vid­ual embod­i­ment of the One.

If Plu­to is the Will of God, and Nep­tune is the Love of God, then Uranus is the Mind of God. What I like to say is that with­in every mote and par­ti­cle of Cre­ation, in every Galaxy, Star, Plan­et, and in every crea­ture great and small, there is a spark of the Divine which has some degree of aware­ness. That spark of the Divine is the Mon­ad of that enti­ty, formed by the Will, and the Love and the Mind of the One Spir­it, the Pri­mal Cause for every­thing and everyone.

Because of this, the Ancient Wis­dom holds that the entire Uni­verse is not only Alive but equal­ly holds that every-thing and every-being is endowed with some degree and form of Con­scious­ness. Yes, the whole Uni­verse is alive and awake, from the most infin­i­tes­i­mal par­ti­cles, on up through atoms and mol­e­cules, to life-forms small and large, on up to the Mag­is­te­r­i­al lords of the plan­ets, stars, and galax­ies. Because all these many ones are part of the One Will, and the One Love, and equal­ly the One Mind of God, the whole of Cre­ation can also be expe­ri­enced as pure Spir­i­tu­al Consciousness.

Sparks of the Divine, The Monads
That is why the fol­low­ers of the Ancient Teach­ings know and under­stand this: Cre­ation is the jour­ney of the Mon­ads of Spir­it who are Sparks of the Divine; Cre­ation is the jour­ney of Spir­i­tu­al Con­scious­ness through Ener­gy-Forms that are formed and informed by the Will, Love and Mind of the One. As a Mon­ad pro­gress­es through lives and forms, it will unfold ever­more its capac­i­ty for Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty. Each Spark of the Divine, each Mon­ad, is a unique or indi­vid­ual expres­sion of the Divine. What I like to say is that the essen­tial con­sti­tu­tion of each Mon­ad car­ries a “Quin­tes­sence” of that Spark of the Divine, and it is that par­tic­u­lar spir­i­tu­al quin­tes­sence that makes you and I the very spe­cial ones that we are. And much of what makes you spe­cial is held by the Avatar Uranus, the Avatar of Indi­vid­u­a­tion by Freer Minds.

Through the jour­ney in space-time, and by a series of forms, and lived in innu­mer­able lives, each Mon­ad will at some point enter the realm of Self-Aware Con­scious­ness, of which our Human King­dom is one.

The Awak­en­ing
The sto­ry told of this moment is found in many teach­ings, myths, and leg­ends. It is when the “gods” walked among us; it is when the Light-Bear­ers came to us. It was their Karmic Duty to pass on the light of self-aware­ness, and we entered our first tru­ly human state of self-aware con­scious­ness. Before then, we had been par­tial­ly con­scious but held with­in a realm of shad­ows and igno­rance; when we woke up, we crossed a fun­da­men­tal thresh­old that divides the dark­ness from the light.

From that moment onwards, our spir­i­tu­al quick­en­ing was estab­lished, as we began to be guid­ed con­scious­ly by our own Will, Love, and by an ever more Self-Aware Con­scious­ness; we were now able to become more con­scious co-cre­ators of this Cre­ation. Through our awak­en­ing, the unfold­ment of our Divine poten­tial became more insis­tent, as it was now being forged by an ever increas­ing­ly self-deter­mined and self-aware con­scious­ness whose prin­ci­ple instru­ment is held by the Avatar that is Uranus.

But this also set in motion one of the greater chal­lenges of our jour­ney. We have had to strug­gle with the spir­i­tu­al chal­lenge of try­ing to hold togeth­er the seem­ing­ly con­flict­ing Ener­gy-Forms of Uranus and Nep­tune with­in the Cru­cible of the Will formed by Plu­to. We are still attempt­ing to find a way to weave togeth­er and bal­ance the Nep­tun­ian “Song of Com­mu­nal­i­ty” with the Uran­ian “Song of Individuality”.

Com­mu­nal­i­ty and Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty, Dri­ver of History
Through­out human his­to­ry, (or maybe it is bet­ter under­stood that this is the dri­ver to the sto­ry of this  human phase of our jour­ney), the attempt to bal­ance and inte­grate the cre­ative ten­sion between self­less­ness and self-asser­tion, between com­mu­ni­ty and indi­vid­u­al­i­ty, between Uncon­di­tion­al Love and Freer Minds has been the prin­ci­pal dri­ver for the rise and fall of com­mu­ni­ties, cul­tures and civ­i­liza­tions. It may come as no sur­prise that we find our­selves in a moment that cer­tain­ly high­lights this chal­lenge right now.

As I dis­cussed in the last show, the role of Nep­tune is to be the Avatar of the over­ar­ch­ing par­a­digm of beliefs in any com­mu­ni­ty, cul­ture, or civ­i­liza­tion. It is what I call the Hold­er of the encom­pass­ing Bub­ble of Beliefs; and that Par­a­digm of Belief is made up of many small­er and inter­laced belief bub­bles that are held by sec­tions and sub­groups with­in any cul­ture. As I not­ed, when you look at any com­mu­ni­ty, cul­ture, and civ­i­liza­tion there will be one or more over­ar­ch­ing or cir­cum­scrib­ing “Bub­bles of Belief” that are shared by many. But the var­i­ous sub-group­s/­sub-cul­tures may hold oth­er sub­sets of “Bub­bles of Belief”, which will be teth­ered by and held togeth­er by the over­ar­ch­ing Real­i­ty-Form. How­ev­er, some of these “Bub­bles of Beliefs” may become some­what less or com­plete­ly unteth­ered to the gen­er­al Par­a­digm of Belief of that group, cul­ture, or civilization.

Uranus, Freer Minds
Look­ing to the Role of Uranus, which is to fos­ter and devel­op our Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty by Freer Minds and more self-aware under­stand­ings, those indi­vid­u­als and groups who are devel­op­ing more spir­i­tu­al­ly indi­vid­u­at­ed minds may sep­a­rate from the main belief sys­tem, as it may no longer be suf­fi­cient for them; they are think­ing more “for them­selves”. With­in any one Bub­ble of Belief there will be some­times more and some­times few­er mem­bers who have sep­a­rat­ed them­selves from the main belief struc­ture because of their own spir­i­tu­al­ly indi­vid­u­at­ing journey.

These Freer Thinkers have moved beyond the ortho­dox or typ­i­cal beliefs, and by so doing they have often raised their under­stand­ing to a more inclu­sive and spir­i­tu­al place of under­stand­ing. In a way, they become a van­guard or advanced sec­tion of those humans in that peri­od. The deter­mi­na­tion that they have indeed pro­gressed spir­i­tu­al­ly is that they hold them­selves in a fun­da­men­tal attune­ment with the One, with the Tri­ad of Spir­it. If so, then we can see that they are guid­ed by Freer Minds, Uncon­di­tion­al Love and Cen­tered Wills.

But it is equal­ly pos­si­ble that oth­er indi­vid­u­als and groups may use their so-called freer minds to cre­ate sub­sets of belief that are spir­i­tu­al­ly regres­sive, a turn­ing-back to a more lim­it­ed belief struc­ture. There are many exam­ples of these so-called freer thinkers look­ing to the past, with a desire to return to what they con­sid­er to be a bet­ter time than the present; they think and act so as to restore or res­ur­rect a hier­ar­chy of belief and val­ue which restores their vision of what is “the old good”. But we will find that most of these indi­vid­u­als and groups are dri­ven by fear and not love; that rather than the inclu­siv­i­ty of Uncon­di­tion­al Love as the basis of Spir­i­tu­al Truth they divide their world into “us” and “them”.

Through­out His­to­ry, one can find peri­ods where the major­i­ty in a com­mu­ni­ty or cul­ture hold to a more or less well-defined and accept­ed belief sys­tem; but there are peri­ods where this com­mon­al­i­ty of belief breaks down. As I not­ed in the last show, the peri­od we are in with Nep­tune in Pisces from 2011 to 2026, and the par­al­lels to the oth­er times in his­to­ry when Nep­tune was there, cer­tain­ly cre­ates con­di­tions for the per­me­abil­i­ty and dis­so­lu­tion of the integri­ty of the pre­sid­ing Par­a­digm, and the over-arch­ing “Bub­ble of Belief” pops. At such times there is great con­fu­sion, with mul­ti­ple and con­flict­ing claims as to what is a fact, or how to deter­mine what is true and what is false. This is the time we are in now.

Uranus in Taurus
I do not sup­pose that it would sur­prise you that the con­tri­bu­tion of Uranus to our present cir­cum­stance is also an espe­cial­ly impor­tant fac­tor. Uranus is in Tau­rus from 2018 to 2026. If we look to his­to­ry, the indi­ca­tions are rather strik­ing. Uranus was also in Tau­rus from 1935 to 1942, and 1851 to 1859, and 1768 to 1775. With Tau­rus being the hold­er for the expe­ri­ence of Val­ue, Uranus as the Awak­en­er will lead to an erup­tion of change in the expe­ri­ence and under­stand­ing of val­ues dur­ing these peri­ods; it will dri­ve any social order to face a cri­sis, break­down and shift in the val­ues of their com­mu­ni­ty and culture.

For exam­ple, the 1935–42 pas­sage wit­nessed a great upheaval in the world with regards to ques­tions of val­ue and the Eco­nom­ic-Polit­i­cal order, with the strug­gle com­ing from the cri­sis of the Great Depres­sion between Cap­i­tal­ism, Social­ism, Com­mu­nism and Fas­cism. The 1851–59 pas­sage saw the clash between the two val­ue sys­tems and two Cul­tur­al-Eco­nom­ic orders in the USA, between the Free Labor econ­o­my in the North, and Slave Labor econ­o­my in the South. The 1768–1775 pas­sage wit­nessed the strug­gle of two polit­i­cal-economies, Colo­nial­ism or Self-Deter­mi­na­tion as the Amer­i­can colonies strug­gled to assert greater self-deter­mi­na­tion over their lives lead­ing up to the start of the Rev­o­lu­tion­ary War.

In each of these peri­ods, revolt, rebel­lion even rev­o­lu­tion was per­me­at­ing the cul­tur­al and polit­i­cal order. A great clash of ideas and ide­olo­gies led to schisms and con­flicts over essen­tial val­ues between groups and regions. An old order of val­ue was being chal­lenged by a series of crises of val­ue that were in fact the end prod­uct of the old order crum­bling into a fail­ing hier­ar­chy of val­ue and belief.

Uranus and Nep­tune, Par­al­lels in Time
If we are to draw par­al­lels about the role of Uranus and Nep­tune act­ing in con­cert in these peri­ods, and con­sid­er­ing our own present cir­cum­stance, I would have to state that our time is much like the 1850’s to the 1860’s, where both Uranus was in Tau­rus and Nep­tune in Pisces. That is where they both are now. Once again, we are faced with both the break­down of a Uni­ver­sal­ly shared Par­a­digm of Belief by Nep­tune, while we are also faced with the shat­ter­ing of the old val­ue sys­tem by Uranus that was estab­lished at the end of World War II.

Free­dom, The Illusion
Yes, it would seem, giv­en that Nep­tune in Pisces has blurred the lines between Truth, Fact and Delu­sion, and Uranus has Freed our minds with regards to ques­tions of Val­ue, giv­en this Pro­tean moment in his­to­ry, each of us is “freer” than we have been before. We are free to decide what is true and what is not, we can deter­mine what is fact and what is fic­tion. Giv­en the pow­er to believe any­thing and deter­mine what is and what is not, we are tru­ly freer now than ever before.

But it cer­tain­ly does not seem freer, does it? Why, what is miss­ing? What we are miss­ing is that we are only human, and we can­not think or believe in a man­ner that is sep­a­rate from the Greater Real­i­ty of which we are a very small part; we can­not, on our own, be defin­ers of what is real and what is not real. That belongs to a high­er power.

Laws of the Universe
The Laws of the Uni­verse are just that, Uni­ver­sal Laws that are the embod­i­ment of the One; and for that very rea­son those same Truths and Laws reside with­in each of us as well. Whether we are look­ing through the Meta­phys­i­cal lens of Spir­i­tu­al­i­ty, or the Log­i­cal lens of Phi­los­o­phy, or the Phys­i­cal lens of Sci­ence, all of these are ordered and held togeth­er as one by the Will, Love, and Mind of the One. Truth is out there in the whole of Cre­ation; and that means that it equal­ly abides in our very con­sti­tu­tion from the phys­i­cal to the spir­i­tu­al realm in each human being. But to tru­ly dis­cov­er and under­stand this truth you must act human­ly; we are co-cre­ators of our con­scious­ness; we need to share with one anoth­er. That very word we use to define our aware­ness, con­scious­ness, means “know­ing-togeth­er”.

Yes, you can make things up, you can sup­pose or even believe what is phys­i­cal­ly, log­i­cal­ly, or spir­i­tu­al­ly true for you…but that will nev­er make it so. So, the ques­tion becomes, what can, or should you do with your lim­it­ed free will and with your lim­it­ed free mind?

What you must first acknowl­edge is that we do live in a Cre­ation that is gov­erned by Spir­i­tu­al, Men­tal, Emo­tion­al and Phys­i­cal Laws, and that in order for your val­ues and beliefs to real­ly approach the Truth, they must cor­re­spond with this Greater Real­i­ty. For­tu­nate­ly, much has been dis­cov­ered, dis­cerned, and is avail­able for you already. You are the heir to a great for­tune, found in the Halls of Spir­i­tu­al Wis­dom, in the Holy Teach­ings form­ing the heart of every Reli­gion, and in the pur­suit of the Truths of Sci­ence with regards to the phys­i­cal laws of the Uni­verse. The great­est minds that ever lived have left you a lega­cy, and you can build your under­stand­ing upon what has been giv­en to you. Start with these gifts from the wise ones; build your tem­ple of truth on the foun­da­tions made by the great ones whose work and gifts are eternal.

How to know Truth
But the jour­ney of dis­cov­ery and the estab­lish­ment of truth is an ever-evolv­ing endeav­or. The most essen­tial gift of hav­ing a freer mind is your capac­i­ty to ques­tion, test and val­i­date a the­o­ry or law or fact. There is noth­ing wrong with this, it is in fact nec­es­sary to your spir­i­tu­al growth and the pur­suit of Truth. You are not here mere­ly to accept what you read or what you are told; you must seek to under­stand for your­self, to affirm and then add to the gifts of your ancestors.

How do we estab­lish what is truer, or more fac­tu­al? We do what we have always done ever since we woke up; we need to be human; we need to remem­ber that we made one anoth­er through our gift of shar­ing with one anoth­er. We humans are sto­ry­tellers, and we need to tell each oth­er our sto­ries, share our expe­ri­ences, com­pare our find­ings, and keep refin­ing from all these impres­sions, expe­ri­ences, dis­cov­er­ies, and real­iza­tions of what is “tru­ly truer”. We need one anoth­er to lift one anoth­er up to our Greater Understanding.

We need to lis­ten to one anoth­er and under­stand where we agree and where we have a dif­fer­ence. But we need to bal­ance Uranus, our crit­i­cal, doubt­ing, ques­tion­ing intel­li­gence with Nep­tune, by always remem­ber­ing that we are made of one anoth­er and we must always treat one anoth­er as we would wish to be treat­ed; we need to weave togeth­er our Freer Minds with our Uncon­di­tion­al Love for one another.

We need to hold togeth­er these three Avatars: By Plu­to we forge our Cen­tered Wills so that we will nev­er tres­pass upon anoth­er; with Nep­tune we act with Uncon­di­tion­al Love because we are ones of the One; and with Uranus we strive for Freer Minds to under­stand our­selves and our Uni­verse. Only togeth­er can these pow­ers work; only togeth­er can we be bet­ter humans.

Yes, it is by fol­low­ing the path of the Lone­ly Ones, the Wise Ones, the Teach­ers and Heal­ers, that is the only way. We must for­ev­er strive for more Self-Con­trol through a Cen­tered Will, Kind­li­ness through Uncon­di­tion­al Love, and Wis­dom through Freer Minds.

This is the path.

It has always been the path.

For those on the path, we say “Let Thy Will be Done”.

For This is the Way of the One.

And we are the ones of the One.
